“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” – African Proverb
In a culture that glorifies individualism, this proverb is a gentle reminder of the power of community. Liberation is not a solo journey—it’s woven through collective care, shared struggles, and mutual support. Going together doesn’t mean we move at the same pace. It means we wait, we carry, we uplift, and we create space for everyone to move forward. True progress is measured by how well we ensure no one is left behind.
What might it mean to embrace the pace of community? To allow the strength of many to outweigh the urgency of one? This is how we go far—not by rushing ahead, but by holding each other as we move forward together.
Community is fueled by our humanity and radical love. It is the anchor that keeps us from spiraling when the darkness overwhelms us. Community means walking through the darkness together and finding our collective light. The light that reveals all truths and banishes all illusions.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the communities in my life. Some of them I’ve been part of for years, while others are newer, still growing, still finding their rhythm. What they all have in common is that they’ve taught me what it means to go far. These are the spaces where I’ve been held when I couldn’t hold myself, where I’ve been reminded that my worth isn’t tied to what I can produce or achieve but to the simple fact that I am here, part of something bigger - The birthing and building of a new world while the old collapses. Reimagining, creating, dreaming, and working with our innate magic to move forward together.
These communities have taught me patience—patience with others and with myself. They’ve shown me that it’s okay to rest, to ask for help, and to let someone else take the lead when I need to step back. They’ve reminded me that liberation isn’t something any of us can achieve alone—it’s something we build together, slowly, with care and intention.
In a society that often pits us against each other, choosing to go together is an act of resistance. We’ve been taught to see success as a solitary act, to believe that independence is the ultimate strength. But true strength lies in interdependence. It lies in recognizing that none of us can thrive alone and that liberation is not a solo journey.
Here’s to the journey, and here’s to going far—together
love, Juliet
Restorative Writing Prompts
Take a moment to reflect on the communities you belong to. Who are the people that help you go far? How do they support you, and how do you support them?
Then, think about one way you can nurture or contribute to a sense of togetherness this week. Maybe it’s reaching out to someone who’s been quiet lately, offering help to someone who’s struggling, or simply expressing gratitude to those who’ve walked beside you.
As you move through the week, consider the pace at which you’re traveling. Are you rushing ahead, trying to go fast, or are you allowing yourself to move at the speed of care, connection, and community?

So powerful! I must have been talking into this a bit as I sent my dear friends who have been a little head in the sand over the last year and definitely these past weeks. I love them dearly though and I have given up dropping seeds, but today I asked if we could pull our resources on information and I’ll create a spread sheet from favorite easy recipes, songs, skills, ideas etc and they all were in! I finally broke down this wall that had been separating them in their own isolation! 💞🔥🙌🏻 Thank you for all that you do to inspire us here!
Ahhh! I literally pulled this out of my saved box of blank cards and out in my office. Eeeeppp! Yes to blessed messages of synchronistic proportions!
