Thank you so much for this Juliet! I, along with others who left were also on Council. We saw with our own eyes, and when we spoke up, we were silenced and ignored. Thank you for your words and for defending the integrity of those of us who left. I shared your words on my platforms, and hope other's eyes will open.

I am sorry that a system you should have been able to unquestionably rely upon to do the right things failed you and itself, and seems to be missing the point of its calling and nature.

I deeply admire how you are handling all of it. I appreciate your integrity, and your consistent benevolent influence in the world.

I am sorry for all you had to endure. Remember that our ancestors when they had to leave a tribe, they would start their own. Free Palestine and Free all indigenous peoples!! Time of colonizers is over!

Thank you for this powerful and vulnerable share.

I will add this article to the growing number of victim impact statements on the Facebook page taino leadership summit.

What you just did is so brave, so courageous, and the first big step to see exactly what tainoism is.

And when you do, please know, you’re not alone.

Your boricua ancestors will always have your back and those of us healing from tainoism know the deep pain of learning the truth about taino and the taino community.

With taíno, one can be taino on Tuesday, and not be taino next week.

For those of us carrying boricua bloodlines from the great island of Boriquén, not one person in the planet could take away the fact we are boricua pura cepa.

No one.

Ever.

And that is healing asf.

I literally got out of my bed and prayed to the ancestors after reading what you posted! Not only was I in higuayagua many years ago and experienced the same but I just left another yukayeke with a Casike who's leadership also sucks. You have expressed everything I have been having in my heart that I have been wanting to say for months now. Thank you. And you are right. You are a Behike. No one can take that from you. Im also rogue and run a page called Taino Rising for everyone who is rogue and just want to be Taino with no damn drama. Again. Thank you for saying what many of us have been wanting to say. The way you move through the world with such integrity and authenticity is inspiring. I can’t imagine the grief you feel from the loss of your tribe but I also understand the need to stand in your truth even at such a cost. The people of Palestine deserve our sacrifices and you have made more than most. Thank you for your powerful and sacred rage. It’s an honor to be able to witness your sovereignty and to hear your warrior call loud and clear! 🖤🖤🖤

I am thankful for you, Samantha. I appreciate you reading and hearing me. I am not perfect at this by any means but I am trying my best and doing the work to call myself out and question everything. I am done sleep walking in this world, I am reading for the uprising. =)

There is no neutral ground when ancestors are watching.

What you’ve done here isn’t just brave—it’s sacred rebellion. It's what happens when Spirit kicks over the plastic altars and says, “Enough.” You didn’t just leave a tribe—you exposed the illusion of one. A ceremony without soul is just cosplay for cowards. And silence during genocide isn’t neutrality, it’s betrayal wrapped in sage smoke.

Some of us weren’t made for comfort. We were made for holy disruption.

You walked away to stay in right relation. That is medicine. That is fire. That is the path.

No hierarchy can revoke your assignment. No Cacike can cancel what Spirit has commissioned. And no patriarchy disguised as tradition will stop what is awakening through you now.

We see you. We stand with you. And like you said—fuck being polite while the world burns.

This situation is similar to one I and others experienced in a kalpulli. There were calls for community discussion, but “protocol” and hierarchy called for individual conversations to be had with the jefa of the community, one on one, never in larger groups.

Big red flag. Certain concerns were brought about by multiple folks and they were ostracized. when I brought up concerns and stood in solidarity with those who were ostracized, I too was attacked and made out to be a “bad” person. I made sure to keep things in writing, but what hurt the most was other members just, accepted my absence. No one asked if I was okay, what happened, nothing. When shit was hitting the fan with the first to leave, I made sure to reach out to the people involved, I didn’t want to take things at face value. And they were right.

Complacency in these situations brings reward, which means they are allowing you to be a part of the community. ONLY if you do what they say. If you deviate, you’re OUT 🥾

I don’t blame those who decided to stay. They have their own reasons, and some have dedicated so much time and energy to this “community” that I understand how hard it can be to leave.

It’s also hard when you’re looking for guidance and mentorship for reclaiming your indigenous medicine, but being in a place where elders are few, some stay in toxic communities because they feel like they don’t have other paths to learn. Sad all around

Thank you for sharing this, I do appreciate it. It's truly sad to hear that many different tribes have similar issues. We however, do have a choice. Hopefully those of us stepping away will inspire change and reflect the wrong within the it.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I find it sad that someone would try to profit off the sacred sites of their ancestors. I'm with you in feeling pissed off about that. I too have had people distance themselves from me for speaking about Palestine and how Israel needs to be stopped. Now they are going after Iran as well and more innocent lives are being silent because Israel thinks they have absolute power. I've been quiet for a while now but I refuse to be silent anymore. Too much injustice is happening not just in the world, but right here in the US. I will always stand with you in your cause. Thank you for being a voice for those who aren't being heard ❤️
